Getting started
How do I add videos?
Open the Library tab and tap the + button (or the Import button on the empty screen). You can import videos from your Photo Library or the Files app, or receive them via AirDrop from another device. Snap Play keeps your imported videos inside the app.
How do I organize my videos?
Use the Collections tab to create folders and color tags. To mark a video as a favorite, tap the star on any video; your starred videos appear in the Favorites tab. Smart playlists automatically group your videos by recency, length, and source.
Playback
What can the player do?
- Gestures: double-tap the left or right side of the video to skip backward/forward.
- Speed control and a clean Now Playing view with a scrubber.
- Picture in Picture (PiP) and background audio, so playback can continue while you use other apps or lock the screen. (PiP requires a physical device; it is not available in the iOS Simulator.)
- AirPlay to compatible devices.
Tap a video to open the full player; swipe it down to collapse it into the mini player above the tab bar.
The tools (extract audio / compress)
Press and hold (long-press) any video to open its menu, where you can Extract Audio (MP3), Compress Video, rename, favorite, share, or delete it.
Premium & subscriptions
What does Snap Play Premium include?
Premium unlocks an unlimited library, all accent colors, iCloud sync across your devices, unlimited tools (audio extraction and compression), and removes ads. It is available as a weekly, monthly, or yearly subscription.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open the Premium screen and tap Restore. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your device, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select Snap Play, and choose to change or cancel your plan. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the current period.
Why do I see ads?
The free version is supported by ads. Subscribing to Premium removes them.
Troubleshooting
A video won’t play or has disappeared
Some videos may still be stored in iCloud. Open the item in the Photos app once to download it, then import it again. If a video was imported in a much older version of the app, please re-import it.
Privacy
Snap Play stores your videos on your device (and in your private iCloud if you enable sync). We do not upload or read your videos. For details, see our Privacy Policy.
